CAFFEE IN HISTORY: between fact and fiction
The history of how coffee's properties were discovered and its diffusion throghout the world is one of the most important and eccentric histories known.
Among legends that are more are less plausible, what is known with certainty is that coffee originated in Ethiopia, and more precisely from the region of Kaffa; from here, around the XIV century, it found its way to Yemen where it was bountifully
cultivated.

Due to the restrictive policies of the Arabs who did not want to diffuse the advantages derived from the discovery of a means that freed them from fatigue in just a few minutes, no fertile seed managed to cross the borders of the country for a long period of time.
That was until 1616 when coffee reached the great port of mocha, certainly one of the most bustling ports at the time.
